FEBRUARY CLASSROOM NEWS:
February has been an exciting month so far! We will finish our thematic units on dinosaurs and
dental health this week, and the children will discover new work on the shelves when they return to
school next Wednesday after the short school break on the 17th and 18th. We will be learning about the
solar system over the next few weeks. We will be introducing several of the new materials and books we
received from the Giving Tree donations earlier this year. Thank you so much for the generous
donations to our classroom and school!
Please keep the following information in mind when you and your child are preparing
valentines. Signed valentines and boxes or containers to gather the valentines are requested to arrive at
school by Wednesday, February 12th. Children in our classroom need to bring 24 valentines. Consider
preparing valentines early and encourage your child to trace or sign his/her own name on each card,
but please do not address the cards to individual students. All children are invited to attend class on
Friday, February 14th to exchange valentines. If your child does not normally attend on Fridays, he/she
may join us for either the morning or afternoon session. It is also helpful to send valentines in a separate
Ziploc bag inside of the valentine box so the children have a container to carry valentines as they are
passed out.
Conferences will begin later this month on February 18th and continue through February 28th
. You may sign up for conferences via Sign Up Genius. If you are unable to meet during the times listed,
please contact me directly so we can find an alternate time. I look forward to meeting with everyone
