The Montessori School for Young Children follows a traditional academic calendar, offering our full-day and half-day programs for nine consecutive months each year. The school year typically begins the Monday after Lincoln Public Schools (LPS) start and resumes for the second semester in early to mid-January. We observe closures throughout the year for staff work days, holidays, and seasonal breaks—many of which align with the LPS calendar. During June and July, we offer a six- to eight-week Summer Enrichment Program for currently enrolled students. This morning-only program focuses on joyful learning and outdoor exploration. Depending on staffing, limited full-day options may be available for children in the Toddler and Preschool Programs. The school typically closes in late July through mid-August for a summer break.
