What is Montessori Education?
At the Montessori School for Young Children (MSYC), we follow the principles of Montessori education, a child-centered approach to learning that nurtures independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of discovery. Developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, this educational philosophy is built on the understanding that children learn best when they are free to explore, make choices, and engage in hands-on experiences within a carefully prepared environment.
Montessori classrooms are thoughtfully designed to support children’s natural development. At MSYC, students benefit from multi-age classrooms, individualized learning, and purposeful materials that promote concentration, coordination, and confidence. Our teachers serve as guides, observing and supporting each child’s growth while encouraging respectful relationships, problem-solving, and creativity.
A Montessori education fosters the development of the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, and physically—by honoring their unique pace and interests.
